OpenAI GPT-6 Brings Interactive AI Tools to ChatGPT

Use GPT-6 in ChatGPT to “see” the AI OpenAI has introduced GPT-6 in ChatGPT with a new feature known as Intelligent UI ushering in a model shift in how humans communicate with artificial intelligence. Not just answering through text, GPT-6 can fuse text with charts graphics buttons, forms, and other interactives built around your prompt.

The worldwide rollout started October 7 for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, and October 8 for Free and Go users. GPT-6 Sol powers paid plans in ChatGPT, and GPT-6 Luna is available for Free and Go users.

“Intelligent UI” It’s the star feature of the upgrade. OpenAI claims that GPT-6 has learned to recognize when an interactive user interface would be preferable to a conventional reply. As a result, an in-depth question could generate a visual diagram, while a comparison may be better represented graphically. ChatGPT can still use a normal text reply when this new format isn’t needed.

One of the most interesting features is the ability to generate small apps right within a chat. You could request a retirement savings calculator, bill splitter, even a simple game from ChatGPT. These are built on the fly for the job instead of users having to switch out of the chat and go find an app.

Charts another element of this new experience include visual or graphical representations of data that GPT-6 can include when it can’t be presented better simply using words. Visual charts will enable users to drill down deeper into parts of a subject instead of scrolling through a verbose explanation.

That is exactly what OpenAI showed us with a handful of examples like the interactive seven-speed bike diagram (in which you can select the different parts of the bike, like the frame, wheels, drivetrain, brakes, and cockpit, and see how it all comes together). Interactive meal plans and calculators reacting to variable inputs are among other applications.

At the core is a library of native, streamable UI components and a compiler that interprets those as GPT-6 builds them. So interactive parts can be revealed piece by piece, rather than waiting for a response to be complete. OpenAI also said that it trained the model to reason about layout content visual appearance, and interaction by the task.

GPT-6 has rapid responses too. As the model is still thinking or using tools to generate or select an answer, it can still start to answer you giving you the opportunity to start reading potentially helpful information before it has finished. Per OpenAI, GPT-6 Instant answers web-search questions 44% faster on average than GPT-5.6 Instant in their test.

The change could also change the way people interact with AI assistants. Unlike more traditional software, which needs you to open different apps for calc, data visualization, planning, or interactive learning, intelligent UI builds in some of those things into the chat, which could make ChatGPT feel less like a chatbot and more like a software platform.

Rather than just being told how to construct a chart or what results to compute, people are becoming more and more able to work with the result.
