The newest season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip is here and it is a complete homage to the franchise’s 20 years. Titled Roaring 20th, the nine-part season debuted on Bravo on August 9 and features seven OGs jetting their way through some of the Housewives franchise’s most iconic towns. A solid core group consisting of Vicki Gunvalson(Orange County), Luann de Lesseps(New York), Porsha Williams(Atlanta), Teresa Giudice(New Jersey), Kyle Richards(Beverly Hills), Gizelle Bryant(Potomac), and Lisa Barlow(Salt Lake City).
The series’ storylines kick off in Orange County where they pick up the discussion from the original they then hit Beverly Hills Atlanta Miami, and New York before ending with a blowout at Dorinda Medley’s Bluestone Manor in the Berkshires. There will be over eighty franchise alum joining this new series including a much talked about return of NeNe Leakes after several years away. The show’s premise remains consistent with the series’ roots: a combination of travel, communal habitation, and never-solved plot points.
Not much has changed in the established formula of the show: viewers will still see “the usual blend of camera-ready guffaws, razorblade-put-downs, and torch-carrying emotion.” In celebration of the show turning twentythe time when the first Real Housewives launchedthe producers have panderingly leaned hard into the nostalgia. Regular locations, rotating old characters, and surprise faces pop up throughout, giving us all the recognition we could want while still providing the fresh, unique interactions of the present cast. E.T. Beginning the day after they air, they can be streamed live on the NBC streaming app, Peacock. Women who normally have little to no interaction with each other are coerced into a group situation and end up, as always, providing chaos to sustain the show. Having original cast members including Vicki Gunvalson and newer ones such as Lisa Barlow reflects the various eras of the program.
